So my housemate woke me up bright and early to tell me that I had a little bundle of joy waiting for me. And by that, I mean that the Fed Ex guy had brought my new digital camera. Gotta say it made my day. JP handed me a CF card and told me that I had to go outside and take pictures and that I wasn't allowed back inside until it was totally full. I took 75 pictures in about 14 seconds. Or twenty minutes. Something like that. I emptied my CF card twice this morning. Over 150 pics in all. Here are a few of them (gotta say, they look much better at full resolution):

It's amazing how getting back into photography has changed the way that I look at the world... literally. I've been walking around today seeing the beauty in everything. Just last night, I was walking home and thinking "god damn you fucking neighbors, why the fuck can't you shovel your goddamn fucking sidewalks" as I was navigating the icy sidewalk, hoping to make it home without breaking any bones. Today, I walked down the same sidewalk and watched the play of light on the ice underneath my feet and smiled.
